CREATIONTIDE – 1st SEPTEMBER – 4TH
OCTOBER
At this year’s Creationtide Service I will talk about
life-giving water and how we have not treated water
very well. It’s a wake-up call.
We need to be better custodians of water for
without it we perish. Water is mentioned in the
Bible many times and signifies a river of faith flowing from God to us, to
pass on to future generations. We need to pass our faith on to future
generations here at the Mission, just as the people who did so before
us.
There are two Psalms: 104 which is quite long, but relevant to
Creationtide and 148. Take time out to read them and contemplate
them.
WAYS TO CONSERVE WATER
• Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth.
• Fix leaky taps and pipes quickly.
• Only run the washing machine or dishwasher with a FULL load.
• Use a watering can instead of a hose pipe in the garden.
• Use the water you washed the vegetables in to water your
garden. My mother used to tip it straight into a watering can to
use later.
• Finally, just don’t waste water on unnecessary things!
